Full course description
This is a web‑based course in Laboratory Animal Science focusing on electrofishing as a survey method.
The course covers wading electrofishing, where personnel wade in a watercourse using an electrofishing unit that generates a weak current to temporarily stun fish. The fish can then be netted, identified, and measured before release.
The method provides reliable data on species presence, density, and size distribution in smaller watercourses.
To complete the course, the following courses must also be taken:
- Swedish Legislation & Ethics, Animal Welfare and the 3Rs
- Laboratory Animal Science – Survey Fishing
- Survey Fishing – Electrofishing, Fish and Electricity, and Anaesthesia
