Fish Survey Techniques - Electrofishing, fish and electricity, and anaesthesia

This is a web‑based course in laboratory animal science and constitutes part of the course Wading Electrofishing and boat electrofishing.  The course cannot be taken separately; it is included in the program for the wading electrofishing and/or boat electrofishing courses.

You will receive basic knowledge about electrofishing equipment, electrical safety, basic electricity theory, fish reactions to electric currents, potential injury risks, and the principles of the 3Rs. The course also covers species identification and gentle handling of fish. After each course module, an online knowledge test is completed.
